Our priority is to give you the edge when it comes to employment by equipping you with the skills and knowledge required by today’s employers. That’s why most of our full time courses have links with industry, include real work experience and come with support to plan your career or own business. The quality of our further education courses was highlighted by Government Ofsted inspectors in 2008, who rated the College as “Good” with many “Outstanding” features.
This is no average college – our pass rates for further education courses are far better than the national average. For long courses (more than 24 weeks in duration) our pass rates are 93% compared to 91% nationally; and for short courses (up to 24 weeks in duration) they are 96% compared to 92% nationally.
Our tutors are a talented lot. Government Ofsted inspectors have highlighted good teaching and learning and our students sing their praises with 98% stating that the quality of teaching on their course is good.*

We have various sources of financial support for those aged 16-18 which you can tap into. These include our new Learner Support Fund (LSF) Grants, which replace the EMA in 2011/12. Our LSF Grants provide a premium bursary, substantial bursary and top-up bursary for those who need financial help (subject to meeting eligibility criteria).
