Higher Education
The Student Progress Team at Bradford College offer individual support and information on services available to students who are care leavers.
What we offer:
- Someone to talk to: A named support worker throughout your time at college, offering support and guidance when you need it
- Help with accommodation all year round. The college can help with accommodation 52 weeks a year.
- Access to a wide range of support services including; guidance, careers, counselling, welfare, student finance and many more
- Access to Learning Fund: Financial support may be available from the Access to Learning Fund if students are in financial hardship.
- Foyer bursary: The bursary is for students who has been a resident in a Foyer Federation. Student may be eligible for a non-means tested Bursary of £1000 from the Access to Learning Fund.
Further Education
- Someone to talk to: Connexion PAs (Personal Advisers) or Progress Coaches will be on hand to give advice and guidance to all FE students who are in care / care leavers. This support is available to you when you need it.
- A government bursary of up to £40 per week (£1,200 payable over a 30 week period) is awarded to students up to the age of 19. Awards are dependent on students meeting college standards of attendance and behaviour.
- Access to a wide range of support services including; guidance, counselling, careers, welfare, student finance and many more
