Meet the Student Officers

Our StudentI

f you are a student of Bradford College and are over 16, you are automatically a member of the Students` Union. Every year all members of the Students` Union have a chance to stand for a position and vote for the student members of the Executive Committee.

What is the Executive Committee?

The committee is a group of students who run the union on a day to day basis. They are the ones who get the stuff you want done!

The committee is made up of the following roles:

The President's post is a full-time paid role. They are the main representative of the students' union. Their job is to act as a go-between between the College and students to make sure all matters that affect students' are seen to. Their job also involves making sure that all union decisions that are made are acted upon.  

This academic year the President is Nabeel Hussain

Nabeel Hussain has been re-elected to the full time role of President of the Students' Union. He proposes to build on the successful campaigns of his first year and aim to achieve more and more in the interests of students. Central to this is engaging more students in the Students' Union. supresident@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

This academic year the Vice President is Mobeen Hussain 

The Vice-President Education & Welfare Officer`s role is also full-time and paid.  They work alongside the President and are there to assist students on academic and welfare issues. Also as the name suggests, the Vice President stands in for the President in the event that they cannot fulfil their duties.

Mobeen has just completed his Law degree at the College. Through more student action, his ethos will be to work on the frontline to achieve better services, facilities and make progress for students within the College. s.vicepresident@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

The following posts are voluntary, part-time roles. These are for students who want to get involved whilst studying.

This academic year the Black Minority Ethnic Officer is Piers Telemacque

The Black Minority Ethnic Students Officer is there to make sure that black students are represented within the College.

Piers is studying Government and Politics, Citizenship, Business and Sociology in the Sixth Form Centre. He believes not enough is done to celebrate the College's massive ethnic and cultural diversity and that ethnic minorities can sometimes feel under and misrepresented. s.blackstudents@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

This academic year the International Student Officer is Rashid Ali

The International Students Officer is there to represent the views and opinions of international students.  Their job is to promote positive involvement of international students in all areas of the College and the union activities.

Rashid is studying HND Business Management with a keen interest in issues affecting international students. This includes better learning facilities, activities and ensuring the Post Study Work Visa is not abolished. s.international@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

This academic year the Disability Officer is Mohsin Tanveer

The Disability Officer's role is to represent the views and opinions of students with disabilities. 

Mohsin is studying BTEC BusinessLevel 3 Diploma and his goal is to make sure that students regardless of their disability enjoy their time in College and to provide them with safe and facilitated environment. s.disabilityofficer@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

This academic year the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual Officer is Zac Dolan

The Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender (LGBT) Officer is there to represent the views and opinions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual students. 

Zac is studying A Levels in the Sixth Form Centre and aims to be a formidable campaigner for LGBT students at the College. This includes providing safe forums for LGBT students, educating and campaigning on issues and making sure LGBT students can be themselves on campus. s.lgbt@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

 This academic year the Mature Students Officer is Emma Parker

The Mature Students Officer's role involves making and maintaining contact with mature students and making sure that their views and opinions are heard. 

Emma is studying A Levels in the Sixth Form Centre and believes that mature students deserve a voice too. This includes her leading on campaigning on issues such as retaining childcare services and student funding in the College. s.maturestudents@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

This academic year the Women`s Officer is Sadia Aziz

The Women's Officer role is to represent the views and opinions of female students throughout the College and the union. 

Sadia is studying AS Biology and Chemistry at the College. She aims to promote positive female involvment of students in addressing issues and organising events. To also ensure that they feel safe and secure in and around the College at all times. s.womensofficer@bradford.ac.uk
