The Counselling Service is a joint service provided for all staff and students who work at or attend Bradford College and the University of Bradford.
The service is located on the university campus, set apart from the teaching and administrative areas of both institutions. This means it’s discrete yet not far from places of work or study. There’s also a drop-in service during term-time, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at the Westbrook Building. This can be accessed without an appointment and provides for “urgent” situations, where students or staff members can check out what counselling can offer or if someone is particularly reluctant to go onto the university campus.
The service can also be used by staff who want advice, information or support for the work they’re undertaking with students. Occupational supervision is also on offer as well as the opportunity to undertake a review of work - life balance or a life coaching approach. We’re also available to talk to staff groups, deliver training on a range of topics including dealing with difficult situations, setting boundaries and referral skills.
Please do not hesitate to contact us regarding any of these options; we’re more than willing to help!
