  • Tutor Goes ‘Extra Mile’ to Secure Place in the Record Books!

    Iain Taylor, Curriculum Team Leader for Sport at Bradford College, has recently completed one of the most gruelling and difficult endurance tests in the UK- the Bob Graham Round. Battling against cold, dark, winter conditions and temperatures as low as minus six, he completed the 68 mile route in the Lake District in 22 hours and 44 minutes, climbing 42 mountains including Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Scafell and Scafell Pike, all of which are more than 3,000 feet high.

  • Olympic Recognition for Women’s Boxing Programme

    Bradford College's women's boxing programme has been granted the ‘Inspire mark’, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises innovative and exceptional projects directly inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The College was presented with the prestigious award at the official launch that took place on Friday 26th November 2010 at the McMillan Boxing Gym, Bradford College.

  • College Boxing Academy Becomes ‘High Performance Boxing Centre’

    Bradford Police & College Boxing Academy has been selected to become a designated High Performance Boxing Centre for aspiring boxers aged 16-19 years by the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) and England Colleges Amateur Boxing Association (ECABA) (older boxers up to 21-years-old may be accepted onto the programme, subject to meeting academic and boxing criteria)

  • Rugby India Prepares for Commonwealth Games at College

    As preparation for the Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens Tournament in Delhi in October, Rugby India is undertaking a Training and Competition programme in Bradford. The Squad is being hosted by Bradford College and will receive coaching clinics from the premier coaches of Yorkshire RFU , Bradford & Bingley Bees RUFC , Bradford Bulls and Leeds Carnegie, with excellent support from the British Asian Rugby Association, Bradford Council and Welcome to Yorkshire.

  • Sporting Legends Back 'Excellence for All'

    World famous athlete Filbert Bayi flew in from Tanzania to attend the ‘Beyond 2012: Excellence for All Conference’, hosted in Keighley by the Bradford Athletics Network and backed by Bradford College.  Filbert Bayi won the gold medal for the 1500 m final at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand, setting a new world record.  It is still classed as one of the greatest 1500 m races of all time.
