Debating Stars Shine

60 school pupils from nine West Yorkshire schools took part in the second annual schools debating competition at Bradford College. The competition is run by Bradford Law School, part of Bradford College as an enrichment activity for local schools.

Coast 2 Coast

The Coast 2 Coast cycle route is one of Britain's longest and most challenging routes. It involves rugged terrain, long climbs and is based on off-road tracks, disused railway lines, cycle paths and minor roads.

Bradford Bulls Train at College

The Bradford Bulls will be setting up camp in the new state-of-the-art Bradford College Trinity Green Campus. The Bulls are carrying out pre-season training for the forthcoming Super League season, and will be using the College’s indoor facilities every Wednesday until Christmas!

College Excels At Ofsted Inspection

Bradford College is celebrating after a Government’s Oftsed inspection report judged it to be “Good” with many “Outstanding” features following a full Ofsted inspection, which took place between 6th and 10th of October 2008.

Community Stars Scoop Awards

The Lord Mayor of Bradford presented awards to the winners of the first ‘Ilkley and District Community Star Awards.’ The awards scheme was established to mark the achievements of individual volunteers and groups making a difference to the lives of people in Burley-in-Wharfedale, Menston, Addingham and Ilkley.

College Tackles Obesity

Professor Paul Gately is an expert in obesity and weight management. He’s worked with the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, on a two part TV documentary to offer help and advice to a family in Hull on healthy eating with a low budget. He has now joined forces with Healthy College Manager, Jane Marshall to tackle obesity.

Marathon Ran, Despite Odds!

Thousands of runners gathered in Millennium Square, Leeds to take part in the Gaz de France Leeds Half-Marathon on a damp and overcast Sunday morning. More than 5,000 people signed up for the 13.1 mile event, and an estimated 3,800 took part in the main run. Amongst those taking part, were a team of five from Bradford College

£13,350 Raised For Charity

Staff and students from Bradford College have been marking the third anniversary of a devastating earthquake which killed 75,000 people in South Asia in 2005, by raising £13,350 for the Kashmir Education Foundation.

NASA Astronauts Land

Dressed in their blue mission jump suits, NASA astronauts brought all the excitement of space to Bradford today, when they touched down in Centenary Square. Children from the city’s schools were thrilled when they got an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet six of the seven astronauts, who have just returned from an exhilarating space shuttle mission.
