
Bradford College celebrated the success of its students during a special Style Awards Evening ceremony.
The Awards Ceremony took place earlier this week and saw Beauty Therapy, Hospitality and Catering and Travel and Tourism students rewarded for their achievement, commitment and hard work. Special Awards were presented for the following categories: Customer Care, Outstanding Contribution, Positive Adaptation, Positive Can Do Attitude, Excellent Progression and Attendance Awards.
During the awards evening, over 150 award winners, nominees and guests were treated to an exclusive catwalk show. The participating models from Bradford College’s Style Academy, College Hair and Beauty Therapy students were responsible for the models’ hair and make-up. The innovative Style Academy is a joint collaboration between Bradford College and Morton Gledhill – one of the countries leading modelling training agencies working with Photography, Beauty, Hair and Fashions skills based around the world of catwalk fashion.
During the innovative event, the stars of the catwalk modelled clothing supplied by New Look, Bombay Stores and Harvey’s of Halifax, whilst Catering and Hospitality students provided the buffet for the evening.
Debbie Forsythe-Conroy, Director of Quality Improvement & Performance, elaborating further on the Style Academy said: “All students enrolled on a vocational programme have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications through the unique Style Academy. Working with Morton Gledhill, students are given the opportunity to learn about styling, image, deportment, confidence, etiquette and effective communication.”
Michele Sutton, OBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Bradford College was delighted to present awards to students along with prizes donated by sponsors such as Ellisons, House of Femur and Dermalogica, Dennis Williams and Barnet Diva.
Hair and Beauty students created cutting edge looks for Travel and Tourism students, who took to the catwalk at the high profile fashion show.
Event Organisers Christine Reilly-Symthe and Hayley Lomas watched with pride as the award winning students accepted their accolades. Speaking at the event, Programme Manager for Hair and Beauty Christine Reilly-Symthe said: “This Awards evening is a fantastic way of celebrating our students’ success. The evening not only rewarded students’ commitment, hard work and achievement but allowed students an opportunity to showcase their talents in their chosen industries. We are delighted we secured involvement from some excellent well-known fashion companies such as New Look, Bombay Stores, Harvey’s of Halifax as well as sponsorship from Ellisons, House of Femur and Dermalogica, Dennis Williams and Barnet Diva.”
