The Syrian Minister for Education jetted into the UK on a week long visit as part of a ‘Skills for Employability’ project. During the visit, the Syrian delegation had the opportunity to attend a Bradford College Business and Enterprise Careers Event, held on Wednesday 25th November in the WOW Academy Centre.
The Syrian delegation, along with representatives from the British Council also attended the event with the objective of looking at how Bradford College engages with employers, as well as observing teaching and learning and how to embed soft skills into the curriculum in work-based scenarios. This is the College’s first partnership and introduction to Syria.
Also in attendance were Bradford College students from Level 1 to undergraduate levels in Business and Finance. They were thrilled to speak with key employers in the region and explore career opportunities available during talks with representatives from the business and finance sector, including: Yorkshire Bank, the Telegraph & Argus, Bradford Council and Yorkshire Building Society.
Following the success of the event, important links between education and the business and finance industry were forged.
