To celebrate the launch of the recent Healthy College Week, a series of innovative posters were devised by Bradford College students. To mark the achievements of the award winning designs, students were invited to attend a formal presentation ceremony, where the winners of the competition were revealed…

Healthy College Manager, Jane Marshall and Staff Development Officer, Christian McGrath were on hand to present the award winners with a voucher and congratulate them on their innovative designs.

Jane Marshall was delighted by the standard of entries.  Speaking at the event she said: “I think the students have done a fantastic job. The work submitted was vibrant, diverse and innovative. It was difficult to select only one winner, so we eventually chose four winners.   They’re completely different styles - but all excellent!”

The winning entries were designed by students on the National Diploma in Art and Design Photography Course:  Sophie Wilkinson, George Hardaker, Lewis Dear and Michael Laidler.  Students, Joshua Riley, Edele Booth and Liam Hunter from the National Diploma in Art and Visual Communication Course also scooped prizes in the innovative competition.

Proud Course Tutor, Suzanne Griffiths said: “Its been an excellent project for our students to get involved in.  Its given them the opportunity to develop their technical expertise further, whilst also working with a client. Following the success of the competition, there are now plans underway to open up the competition to all Art and Design courses within the School.”

Course Tutor, Dale Cochrane added: “The Healthy College project was a great success!  The students only had a week to complete the project, but they responded really well and produced a high standard of work.”

Suzanne concluded “We’re very proud of the outstanding quality of work produced by our students. It demonstrates the creative, lively and imaginative work encouraged here within the School of Arts and Media.”
