Winning the bursary has given Leticia the opportunity to make her
dream of becoming a doctor a reality. Leticia explained: “I was so
pleased to be chosen as the College’s nominee, but I never expected
that I would be picked by the Helena Kennedy Foundation.” Leticia
accepted a place at Bradford University on the Foundation Degree in
Science and hopes to go on to medical school to specialise in
Cardiology.
Leticia continued: “Me being put forward by the College for this award, and then winning it, has brought real happiness to my mum. It proves to her that people do care about things that happen to others. From the minute I started at Bradford College I had so much support, especially in terms of language. I am very grateful!”
