The Bradford Bulls will be setting up camp in the new state-of-the-art Bradford College Trinity Green Campus. The Bulls are carrying out pre-season training for the forthcoming Super League season, and will be using the College’s indoor facilities every Wednesday until Christmas!
The amazing sports facilities have also been used by the England Wheelchair Tag Rugby League World Cup Squad, before they headed out to Sydney Australia to take part in the Inaugural Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup.
The Bulls were delighted to use the state-of-the-art Trinity Green Campus sports facilities, which boast: a 1000m² sports hall; sports and fitness laboratories; a fitness testing suite; a dedicated sport theory room; an aerobics and dance studio complete with fully sprung wooden floor; multi-use games area; 2 basketball courts designed to Sport England standard; three 5-a-side pitches; and a full size football pitch which are all available for community use.
The College’s sports provision is the chosen location for the entire first team of the Bradford Bulls to begin their training camp. Bradford College already has strong links with the Bradford Bulls. They are in partnership together in offering the Bradford College Rugby Academy. The Academy combines vocational studies with individual sports coaching and competition programmes.
Trinity Green Campus and the sporting facilities were officially opened in September 2008 by Gerry Sutcliffe MP, Minister for Sport. These new sports facilities now feature in the London Organising Committee Pre-Games Training Camp Guide for the Olympics in 2012.
Commenting on the use of our facilities by the Bradford Bulls, Ben Greaves, Bradford College Rugby Academy Coach said: “Students in the Rugby League Academy will have the chance to watch a professional team train. They’ll also receive top class coaching from one of the members of staff at Bradford Bulls.”
Ben continued: “One of the first team players Glen Morrison will be the manager for the academy team, so players will have the chance to impress first hand. As Bradford Bulls are training on the College site. This should raise the profile of the fantastic sporting facilities within this building and promote the College’s Rugby Academy Team.”
