Bulls Stars Launch Academies

bradford_bulls1.jpgBradford Bulls stars Ben Jeffries and Joe Vagana recently launched Bradford College’s Sports Academies.  The academies, available for: Rugby, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Boxing and Fitness could see future sporting legends trained at Bradford.

As part of this exciting new venture, the College has formed partnerships with high profile: Bradford Bulls, Bolton Wanderers, Bradford City Football Club, Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Bradford Dragons Basketball Club and the Amateur Boxing Association, with plans to open further academies in the future!

Commenting on the success of the academies, Ronnie Todd, Sports Academy Project Manager, said:  “It’s an absolutely brilliant new scheme. The number of 16 year olds in Bradford engaged in sports education is low. We had no facilities. Now we’ve got them we’re going to fill them!”

The Sports Academies housed in the new £20million, state of the art College’s campus will provide students with superb sports facilities.  These include: a 1000m2 sports hall, sports and fitness laboratories, a fitness testing suite, sport theory room, aerobics and dance studio, 2 basketball courts, 3 5-a-side pitches and a full size football pitch!

Ronnie Todd added:  “The Sports Academies could give future sporting legends the opportunity to combine individual sports coaching and competition with vocational studies in Sport, giving them a route to further education or employment!”
