Bradford
College is set to mark its
175th anniversary by staging an exhibition of 175 former students who have made
a key contribution to its long and distinguished history
Individuals likely to feature include world-famous artist David Hockney, who studied at the College’s School of Arts & Media from 1953 – 1957, pop star Bob Hardy, bass player with the band Franz Ferdinand and Sydney Olympic cycling medallist Yvonne MacGregor.
The College is keen to highlight former students who have also achieved great things out of the public spotlight.
Clare Lamkin, Events Coordinator at Bradford College, wants friends and family of former students, who have made a mark in their own field, to get in touch. Claire explained: “What we’re looking for are the key movers and shakers who form part of the College’s 175 year history, figureheads who’ve made the College what it is today!”
The College’s roots go back to 1832 when the Bradford Mechanics Institute was founded. Nearly two centuries on, approximately 20,000 students are enrolled at the College, which also employs 1200 staff.
