Bradford College Students celebrate success, expressing their delight as A level results revealed…

Students waited nervously to find out the results of their A levels.  Much to their delight the 14th August 2008 marked the successful achievement of their goals. Their hard work, dedication and determination paid off, with students achieving 100% pass rates in: Biology, English Language, English Literature, Film Studies, Applied Science, Art & Design, Geography, ICT, Media Studies, Religious Studies, Sociology, Government & Politics, Maths and Urdu!

What’s more all subjects achieved pass rates in the upper 80s and 90s!  Overall the A level pass rate this year has improved from 94% in 2007 to 96% in 2008 for all A2 exams Grades A-E.

To succeed, we must first believe that we can.  Our students believed in themselves to achieve their goals and realise their ambitions!  Hear what our students have to say…

“I’m feeling ecstatic!  I’ve just rang me my mum to tell her the good news then the battery on my mobile died so I didn’t get to hear her reaction.  I got:  an A in Biology, an A in Psychology, an A in Business Studies and a B in Chemistry.  What are my plans for the future?  I’m going to study Medicine.”

James continued:  “Before I opened the envelope I thought oh my god, this could all go completely wrong. Then I opened the envelope and everything fit into place.”

I was sick of working for minimum wage and just scraping by…  I wanted to make things better for my daughter!”

"I got 2 A’s.  One for Psychology (A2) and one for Biology (AS).  How do I feel about the results?  First of all I was speechless.  I was really scared that I’d bombed. Then I was like, thank god I passed!”

Claire gained 3 A levels in: Media (A), English (B) and Sociology (C).  “I’m surprised… quite pleased to be honest. I don’t think I’d have got my A levels if I’d stayed on at school.  I wouldn’t have stuck it out;  I’d probably have dropped out.  Its different here… the best bit is the lecturers.  They talk to you on a level and don’t talk down to you.”
