The UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC) and Bradford College were proud to host a networking lunch for women in engineering and construction.
The UKRC is the Government’s lead organisation for the provision of advice, services and policy consultation regarding the under-representation of women in science, engineering, technology and the built environment (SET).
The lunch recently held at the College’s Trinity Green state of the art campus, provided opportunities for attendees to meet other women, find out about local/regional networks and learn networking skills. The networking lunch is part of a string of initiatives by the UKRC to promote gender equality in science, engineering, technology.
Around twenty women working in engineering and construction and studying on courses such as Let’s TWIST (Train Women in Science & Technology) together with Ellen Whitworth, Branch Manager (Yorkshire Region) for The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Links2 Construction Manager, Nicky McAlpine attended the event, which proved to be a huge success.
The event organised by Tamsin Spain, UKRC and Lecturers Jeanette McMurdo and Mary McKee provided information about networks for women in Engineering and Construction, services provided by the UKRC and courses offered at Bradford College.
