Yorkshire now boasts the largest number of Michelin Star restaurants in the UK.  There certainly isn’t a lack of great food in Yorkshire.  The Level6 Restaurant also prides itself on creating culinary masterpieces that have been cooked, served and presented by Bradford College students – many of which have gone on to become award winning chefs or work in prestigious Michelin Star restaurants.

The Level6 Restaurant offers delicious food and a wide range of beverages, served in a modern and tastefully decorated environment. Menus cater for a variety of tastes and are rotated to reflect seasonal produce. Light and healthy options are also available.

Andy Bray, Hospitality Chef explains more about the Level6 Restaurant and how the menu has gone from strength to strength. “We’re constantly striving to improve our menu.  For example if we produced a BLT before, now we ensure the bacon is slow roasted for 4 hours in the oven to get it crispy and instead of it being just a slice of tomato, now it’s made with home dried tomatoes, cracked black pepper, sugar and oregano that we dry out over a two day period to get an intense flavour, instead of just a slice of tomato and lettuce.” Andy smiled and added: “We only use the finest ingredients!”

In a bid to become more eco friendly, the Level6 Café has substituted plastic packaging for biodegradable boxes and beverage cups. Restaurant and Café Manager, Aiden James elaborated further: “We’re trying to do our bit for the environment and comply with the College’s green initiatives and Green Solutions recycling company. We’ve reduced our carbon footprint by substantially reducing the amount of rubbish we send to landfill, as most of our packaging is now biodegradable.”

Talking about the innovative changes taking place at Level6, Aiden continued: “We’ve changed the style of service in the restaurant; we’ve separated it into two sections – ‘Brassiere’ and ‘Formal Dining.’ Customers now have the option of simpler and less expensive food from the Brassiere menu – or treating themselves with gourmet food from formal dining. There’s even the option of half portions if you’re not that hungry. The new menu has been designed with staff in mind, that are in a rush and may only have half an hour for lunch. They can come in, eat quickly and go straight back out.”

Andy added: “In the past people assumed they could only go to the café bar if they wanted to be served quickly.  We want staff to know they can come to the restaurant for speedy service.”

Aiden continued: “Our Brassiere menu offers great British classics such as ‘fish and chips’ and ‘roast of the day’. So if you’ve been working all day, you can come in and have something substantial in a relaxed environment.”

Food starts as low as £1.50 in the Restaurant to cater for every budget. The changes to the menu have met with rave customer reviews – with customers commenting on the fast, friendly and efficient service - and the outstanding quality of food at competitive prices.

“It’s always worth coming to Level6 as there are always great promotions.” Aiden said. “What’s more, your Level 6 dining experience could include food being served, cooked and prepared by award winning chefs - and students that have gone onto work in Michelin Star Restaurants.”

“For example, Paul Pearson a former student of Level6 has completed his studies and has been working for Nigel Haworth a Michelin Star Chef, who makes regular appearances on the hit TV series ‘Great British Menu’ and ‘Master Chef’.  Nigel also has a chain of Gastro Pubs and owns the Michelin Star Restaurant ‘Northcoat Manor.’
