You receive one of the following benefits:
Income Support
Pension Credits Guarantee
Jobseekers Allowance
Housing or Council Tax Benefit
Working Tax Credit (where the total household income is less than £16,300 per year)
Are an unwaged dependent (spouse/partner or child of a person in receipt of
Working Tax Credit )
If you’re 19+ and haven’t got a full Level 2 qualification you may not have to pay course fees if you’re studying on certain Level 2 courses. A full Level 2 qualification is any of the following:
5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C
BTEC First Diploma
NVQ 2
OCR National Level 2
5 O levels, or 5 GCSEs at Grade 1
Intermediate GNVQ
BEC/TEC General or Higher
Skills for Life
If you’re aged 19-25 and haven’t got a full level 3 qualification you may not have to pay course fees.
A full Level 3 qualification is the equivalent of two or more full A levels and includes any:
NVQ 3
BTEC National Certificate or Diploma
Please note that you may still have to pay for registration /exam fees, work-based assessment fees, books and materials if applicable.
