Electronic Resources

As a student or member of staff at Bradford College you have access to a wide range of electronic resources, from databases which can help you find information relating to your assignment or research, to the full text of journals and books online.

Most of our electronic resources are available off campus. You will need your college username and password to access them.

If you need help using any of our electronic resources then please Contact a Librarian.

Electronic Databases

Databases are collections of information that can be accessed and searched online via the Internet.  The databases in our collection cover all subject areas from hairdressing to law, construction to education.   If you are looking for references to journal articles you can use a bibliographic database such as ASSIA or the British Education Index.  Often the database may contain full text journal articles, Emerald and General OneFile for example.  You can also search particular databases for images, news film, law reports, financial and statistical information.

Electronic Journals

You can search the A to Z of Journal Titles to access the full text of over 9000 journals in electronic format.  Some of these journals are electronic versions of journals that are held in the Library, in our print collection.   Some are journals that the Library does not have in our  print collection, but which are made available as part of a database collection - Emerald, Computer Source, General OneFile and Lexis Library for example.

If the journal you need is not available electronically please search the Library Catalogue to see if we hold a print version.

Electronic Books

Bradford College Library has a growing collection of electronic books which are available from four main providers, MyiLibrary, Dawsonera, Ebrary and Safari.  The Library also subscribes to a number of electronic resources that provide the full text of reference titles (encyclopaedias and dictionaries) and core texts electronically.
