He said “A lot of it is about common sense and moderation as a concept. I believe there is a lot of hype within the media about young people binge drinking but apart from drivers,  most older people are officially binge drinking. If everyone analysed their alcohol limits when they go out or poured a drink at home, you would probably find more forty to fifty year olds breaking the limit of two or three units a night and that young people drink less. People need to see statistics on this. Imitation and going along with the crowd. During the British Science Festival I tried on beer goggles and saw a test where a group were given non-alcoholic drinks but because they were told they were alcoholic, they acted as if they were drunk. But some youth culture is celebrity led and footballers are all drinking less now and more into being healthy.”
