
Many students and visitors to the College will have passed the German Church’s quirky shaped building on Great Horton Road countless times without realising its historic significance, locally and internationally.
The congregation had generously shared the premises to allow the creation of an arts centre to promote cultural and creative growth in the city. The Centre has just secured £170, 000 of funding for renovation and facilities upgrade. Bradford College is supporting the development of the centre through the expertise of key staff and providing in kind support where possible.
Clare Lamkin, Member of the Delius Centre Board with responsibility for developing the venue’s artistic programming, and Bradford College Events Manager explained, “We are keen to be good neighbours and support this development with a view to enrich Bradford’s cultural development. I am looking at staging some of our exhibitions and events there, as part of a new arts programme.”
