“The show featured work for the theme Icons, where the students really pushed the boundaries. This was not a literal interpretation but a very diverse range of work including painting, 3D, animation and a mural executed in a public space for a boxing club. They used a lot of ideas and concepts to drive the work forward. It has been a big success, reflecting a true art bad design course by using mixed media and ideas and concepts and also using a good skills base so those more reliant on computers have been able to produce some excellent work. One student made a film based on a rocket car that he had made. He took footage from the vehicle he constructed and used After Effects and Rotoscope to make it look like an animation.
Eighty percent of students are progressing to degree programmes; 50% will continue their studies within Bradford School of Arts & Media while 30% will be taking degrees elsewhere.”
