BAF'08, the annual animation festival which is one of the highlights of Bradford's calandar, was a huge success once again. Now in its eighteenth year, the event delighted professionals, students and enthusiasts from far and wide to the National Media Museum from 12th to 15th November, with 7646 admissions to the cinema and 650 passess sold. Bradford College and the WOW Academy are once again the principal sponsors of this important festival.
We were delighted to be involved, as College Events Manager, Clare Lamkin explained:
"The College has some fantastic courses and resources specialising in animation including the amazing WOW Academy so sponsoring BAF 08 brings about a very productive partnership with The Media Museum. I was really pleased how College students directly benefited from the sponsorship of BAF 08. Students from a range of courses including BA Graphics, Media and Communication, Interactive Design and Games Technology had access to 270 tickets and also had an opportunity to contribute to a DVD showcasing animation being shown at the festival.
Staff benefited too, with over 150 staff taking up an opportunity to watch Fly me to the Moon on the Imax Screen, and four staff and their families went to a private sponsorship showing of The Snowman and Famous Fred. The College logo went on all the branding for the festival, all of which will help raise the College profile, credibility and public awareness."
