Free Skills Training for the Unemployed

Aged 25 or over and unemployed for 6 months? If so, then we can offer you a wide range of training opportunities to meet your needs and those of the local job market.

These training opportunities are FREE and will maximise your employment opportunities by providing you with valuable advice and guidance, the chance to brush up on your IT skills and take on job-related skills modules. The training will be tailored around your skills and employment requirements and will include the following:

  • Online Literacy and Numeracy assessment with the opportunity to practice National Tests in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Assessment of Learning Styles
  • Individual Learning Plans
  • One-to-one sessions with specialist Information, Advice and Guidance staff to advise and look at options for learning, training and employment
  • Follow up support and contact with learners
  • Progression into education, training and employment
  • Enrolment on courses leading to employer recognised qualifications up to Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Enrolment on vocational courses at Bradford College
  • Links with local training providers

Entry requirements

You need to be aged 25 and over and to have been claiming Job Seekers Allowance for 6 months or more.

Duration of course

The duration of the course will be entirely dependant on the learner.

Cost

As this course has been funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, it is free.

Location

The course will take place within Bradford College’s main campus, on Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1AY.
