Bradford College has a long history of providing legal education which stems from delivery of A level law through to the Foundation Degree in Law and Legal Practice, delivered for the first time in 2008/9, and established degree programmes, as well as delivering law in other areas such as ILEX (Institute for Legal Executives), and CLC (Council for Licensed Conveyancers) courses.

This programme recognises the growing overlap of the roles of the accountant and the business lawyer and aims to provide you with an excellent course of study to enable you to work efficiently in either a local, UK or Iinternational setting.
Your Honours degree will comprise six semesters, taken over three years of full-time study. In addition, you will acquire a useful range of general and transferable business skills in areas such as IT, Statistics and Communications.
In the course of the three years you will study, amongst other modules, a progressive programme of both Financial Accounting and Management Accounting, with a variety of interesting options ranging from Personal Tax to Computerised Accounts. The legal studies will include most of the major foundation subjects of UK Law and relevant European Legislation including Company Law and Administration.
Our aim is to include you in your own learning development and for you to acquire accountancy and legal skills, which are readily applicable on graduation.
A wide range of teaching methods are used, including lectures, seminars, workshops and simulation packages.
We use a variety of methods to assess you, including in-course assignments, dissertation and examination. Our methods are selected to comply with the requirements, where appropriate, of the professional bodies.
The option of supervised work experience in the second semester of the second year will provide you with the perfect opportunity to link College-based learning and the real business world. You will be placed in a suitable business environment following careful negotiation between yourself, the College and the employer.
The structure of the programme will prepare you for success in a variety of accountancy and financial management settings. The programme has a strong legal context and, through further training, you can gain professional legal and/or accountancy qualifications.

We normally require passes in a minimum of two A2 GCE or AVCE (minimum 12 units) or BTEC Nationals or the equivalent.

The College welcomes applications from non-standard applicants who do not satisfy these entry requirements, provided the student can demonstrate that, by virtue of other studies and/or experience, they are capable of coping with or benefiting from the course.
That there is an increasing demand for legal accounts and that legal accountancy is a career description in its own right with many large and medium sizes law frms having their own in-house accountancy department.
