Bradford College has a long history of providing legal education which stems from delivery of A level law through to the Foundation Degree in Law and Legal Practice, delivered for the first time in 2008/9, and established degree programmes, as well as delivering law in other areas such as ILEX (Institute for Legal Executives), and CLC (Council for Licensed Conveyancers) courses.
This comprehensive College portfolio provides students with the opportunity to study full law programmes or just specific aspects of law, to study an academic course appropriate to their personal or professional needs.

This is a modular course which includes the study of the seven foundation subjects delivered within the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Council rules, together with English Legal Process and a small research project.
The course covers the SRA and Bar Council core modules, plus English Legal Process and has an independent study module.
The course comprises nine modules:
Contract Law
Public Law
Criminal Law
Land Law
Law of Tort
Equity and Trusts
Aspects of European Law
English Legal Process
Independent study.
A mixture of lectures and seminars supported by informal discussions with tutors.
Examinations, assignments, presentations.
Successful completion of the course may lead to the Legal Practice course or Bar Vocational Course and work as a solicitor or barrister.
You must be either a graduate of a UK or Irish University or recognised institution of Higher Education. If your degree is not from a UK or Irish University or recognised institution of Higher Education, a Certificate of Academic Standing must be obtained from the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) or Bar Council.
Applicants whose first language is not English and whose degree was not taught in English will have to demonstrate sufficient competence in English to be admitted.
It is possible to have exemptions from Graduate Diploma in Law Modules. If, for example, you have studied a substantial amount of Law at undergraduate level. If you are seeking exemptions, you must apply to the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) or Bar Council for a Partial Exemption Certificate before commencing the course.
