Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production (Games Development)

Course Overview

This is a practical work-related course to give you an excellent basis for your chosen area of employment within the video games industry.

In addition to developing your IT skills you will also study a range of Units designed to develop your personal and social skills.

Course Structure

The course is made up of six Units - three Mandatory Units, which all students study, and three Specialist Units.

The three Mandatory Units are:
Understanding the Media
Research for Media Production
Media Skills Development


The Specialist Units will give you the chance to study your chosen areas and include:

Digital Graphics

2D Computer Games

Reviewing Computer Games

Website Design

Entry Requirements

You should have at least one of the following:
a Level 1 qualification and a good standard of Literacy and Numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four GCSEs at Grades D-G, related work experience or other related Level 1 or 2 qualifications.

How Will I Learn?

You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

Skills You Will Develop

You will develop skills such as:

  • Reviewing Computer Games
  • 2D Computer Games
  • Web Authoring and Digital Graphics.
