UCAS Extra

Emily computerBetween March and June, UCAS Extra is an opportunity for you to avoid Clearing. If you have used all five choices, but have not received an offer, you have an opportunity to make a further application or applications.  You can receive an offer before exam results are published and before Clearing starts. If you’re eligible to be included in Extra, you’ll receive Extra information from UCAS giving details of how to use it.

You can then select the Institution and course which is of most interest to you.  Your application will be passed to each Institution sequentially.  Each institution has 21 days to consider your application.  If you do not receive a response, you can then choose to apply to your next choice.  If you have been made an offer, you can accept or decline.  If you do decline, you can continue to apply through UCAS Extra for another course.

If you decide to decline or your application is unsuccessful, you can continue with this sequential single application process until the end of June, when you will need to apply through Clearing if you still do not hold an offer.

However, if you should require any additional information – please contact the HE Registry, Room B12a, Old Building, Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1AY.
