Iñaki explains "The main idea for the paintings can be that we are trying to understand what happens when we are in a three dimensional reality and we paint on a flat support, or when we are in front of a two dimensional painting and we get an illusion of volume or space. That bridge between the concepts of two and three dimensions that a painting can be is where we want to locate our work."
This spectacular exploration of space and our surroundings includes a four-sided construction where a train runs over bridges and through tunnels within each canvas, as it travels from one of Iñaki's gloriously luminous paintings to another. Daniel's work is an abstract and intruiging mixture of painting and collage.
Exhibition highlights
Iñaki spent time in the studios at Bradford delivering a professional critique of our students’ work before delivering seminars, talking about his unique approach and offering fascinating insights into his work.

Daniel will also visit to talk to students at the exhibition’s close. The chance to stage this superb exhibition arose following a visit to Bilbao by our artist/lecturers, Martin Hearne and Howard Eaglestone in summer 2008, designed to strengthen existing links with the Universidad del Pais Vasco, whose students have studied with us as part of the Erasmus programme for many years. Our students will now enjoy the opportunity of studying in Bilbao and an exhibition presenting the work of staff from Bradford School of Arts & Media is planned.
Exhibition runs Monday to Friday, 10.30am until 4 pm , from 9th to 20th February 2009.
