Our new year begins with a welcome return for our annual HND Photography Show, which raises raise funds and awareness for Sightsavers International, a remarkable charity working tirelessly to prevent blindness and support the irreversibly blind in some of the world’s poorest countries.
I For an Eye represents the way our students see the world. The individual pictures represent the diversity and breadth of the photographers' response to their influences and environment, something the more fortunate can take for granted.
Each image is priced at only £20 (unframed) and this reflects the cost involved in saving the sight of one person through a simple cataract operation. Framed prints can be purchased for £35. Since every penny raised goes to this worthy cause the students had to select the images they believed would sell the most. As Course Tutor, Andy Vaines explained, “This is shooting for a purpose and they had to consider what was commercial. They also contacted sponsors, curated and publicised the exhibition, so they have gained fantastic lifeskills and professional experience.”

The exhibition opened on 16th January at 6pm and runs until 29th January 2009. Gallery open from Monday to Friday, 10.30am until 4 pm.
