If you go down to the YCC foyer and café/bar, you’re sure of a big surprise ….All kinds of creatures are depicted in a range of media to make an eye-catching display which has attracted very favourable comments from visitors.
This delightful presentation features work by the latest intake of Art & Design students to join our further education courses following an enrichment visit to Chester Zoo in September.
Photography Lecturer and Acting Curriculum Team Leader, Sue Griffiths, explained, “As part of their induction programme around 130 students visited Chester Zoo with staff and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip, with students creating art work, and photography on the day. The students then used this exciting experience to create 2D and 3D imagery and objects which relate to their individual briefs. This work culminated in an exhibition so that family and friends could come and see their work at an open evening on 2nd November, which was a great success.”
The show proved so entertainining that it remains on display until 17th November to give everyone in College an opportunity to come along and enjoy it.
Sue continued, “I am really proud of all who took part in the project and helped to put on the exhibition and it shows that as an art team we can all work together to enrich the students. I would also like to thank the Yorkshire Craft Centre Team for all their patience and help, as we couldn’t have done it without them.”
