Anyone expecting an exhibition depicting Bradford to be pictures or photographs hanging on a gallery wall, was challenged to think again by intersection ...
This is the first exhibition by VIBE (Bradford Visual Artists), a recently formed group of professional artists bringing together diverse talents and experiences. To explore the local area in new and challenging ways they divided a map of the city into nine sections and each artist spent two months researching their area to produce a piece that offered their own unique perspective. The gallery has been marked out grid fashion and the work, involving a range of art forms, is displayed in nine squares.
"intersection engages artists and audience with questions of space and interpretation of site. A charged atmosphere is created in the gallery as the artists' works rub up against each other, similarly on the city streets, buildings with different architectural visions meet, reflect and join together to make each street."
