Clare Lamkin, The Yoprkshire Craft Centre and Arts & Cultural Events Manager for Bradford College, explained: "I am really delighted that Bradford College has been chosen to be one of the participating colleges in the AA2A scheme as it demonstrates that Bradford School of Arts and Media and The Yorkshire Craft Centre have parity with other university and college fine art facilities and departments in the country.
Supported by Arts Council England and CHEAD, AA2A is an exciting national project that allows artists to explore ideas which previously they haven’t been able to realise because of the lack of specialist equipment and having nowhere to go. The artists bring with them a wealth of experience and ability in a range of disciplines that can only enhance the profile of the College.
Having professional practitioners working in the College is inspirational for our undergraduate students, especially as all the artists lead seminars, hold an open evening to talk about their work and exhibit the end products of their residency in our Summer Show. This is a really inspirational project that will benefit everyone involved and enhance the College’s rich cultural heritage.
In 2008/9 we were delighted to welcome two Fellows, who have now completed their residencies and unveiled the fruits of their labours at our Summer Show 2009. Discover more about their work under the scheme here:
