Helen Kinsella began her impressive career in Finance working at ISA Trading. Rising quickly through the ranks, Helen felt the time was right to go for promotion at Loop Customer Management, before making the transition and further promotion to Horwarth Clark Whitehill, then following a merger Baker Tilly in 2007.

This also coincided with Helen graduating from Bradford University with a BSc (Hons) in Business Economics in July 2007.

In 2008 Helen joined Bradford College taking on the role as International Finance Officer at the International Centre.  Helen’s sharp insight into Finance and effective international strategies delivers results and developed excellent business relationships with international contacts.

Elaborating further on her role as International Finance Officer, Helen modestly explained: “My role in the International Centre primarily involves processing student’s tuition fee payments and liaising with key stakeholders such as foreign embassies and suppliers regarding payments.”

Intent on making a difference as a member of the College Corporation, Helen continued: “International students coming to the UK to study are facing evolving and challenging times.  I hope I can bring my hands on experience of these issues - and the effects they are having on students and staff to the Corporation’s discussions.”

Helen has always shown a strong commitment to life long learning and actively encourages people to reach their full potential.  As a working mother, bringing up a young family, Helen takes the commitments of childcare, career and study all in her stride, having successfully completed the first year of her Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification whilst working at the College.

Helen reflected: “By drawing on my knowledge as a member of staff in the International Centre, coupled with my financial background, my experience as a student in the City, from primary school right through to my degree studies and living in Bradford all of my life, I hope I can offer greater insight to the Corporation from a variety of different perspectives.”

Helen concluded: “The College has often been described as the ‘heart of the City’ – providing world class facilities for people to train within and playing a vital role in building Bradford’s future.”

“I believe that moving the city forward is key, and that the College and the Corporation can work together to build a brighter future for our students, the City and the wider community - helping to regenerate the city back to its former glory.”
